Walpola Hutchison Engineering Complex Project
PMT was involved in providing total Lightning & Surge Protection and Earthing solution to the Engineering Complex of Hutchison in Walpola, which is situated in a highly lightning prone area. It was a real challenge to protect this facility from lightning damages, where a slight damage could cause total network breakdown and interruption to cellular services. In order to overcome this, the mobile switching centers and the IT server rooms were provided with well designed Faraday cages and a good grounding system.
PMT has carried out surge protection, earthing and electrical wiring in most of the Hutch base stations, thus providing a well secured system, which enables Hutch to operate with minimum network downtime.
PMT also does consultancy on lightning & surge protection and earthing systems, thus assisting Hutchison to achieve industry standards and minimizing damages to the neighborhood of their base station sites.

Mobitel Switching Centers and Base Stations Project
PMT has secured all mobile switching centers of Mobitel by providing well designed Faraday Cages, surge protection systems and earthing networks. PMT also have supplied surge protection systems and has carried out installation of earthing systems to Mobitel’s base stations.
PMT also does consultancy on lightning & surge protection and earthing systems for Mobitel for all critical and extremely difficult sites.
